My congratulations to the editors of the Anniversary Magazine on their choice of covers. We have on the front cover, all in one place for comparison, 9 variations of the Western Junk Rig. Great for ease of comparison.

On the back, you have my very favorite traditional Chinese junk, the "Big Eyed Chicken", I believe it is called. When the Chinese have got through the transition phase of modernization and can look back again, they will build splendid replicas of boats like these and celebrate their heritage, they way we do by building and sailing tall-ships.

I had a great opportunity to sail on the Australian museum ship, HM Bark Endeavour in 1998, Halifax to Bermuda. It had to be the most exciting trip of my life. I was transported to another era.
