Now I have a soft spot for schooners, and one of the reasons is that I think they are so easy to balance!

Do you feel an attack of the schooners coming on, Jeff? This is a very small boat for a schooner rig. The scaling effect works against you, and it's difficult to get a 2 masted rig with enough area on a small boat. And it's double the trouble. I managed to get a schooner rig on my last boat, at 28', but it took some figuring out.

Not really. I'm too lazy to manage all those strings. I just stew about that mast being so far aft. Got some schemes brewing if necessary.
I'll find out pretty soon. I'm taking her to the lake today, turning her over to a diesel mechanic, and should have her in the water some time next week. At long last.

I've always thought the Tom Thumb was a great looking design. Designed for steel, I believe. Looks even better as a junk!
