Greetings all,
September is getting closer… We've heard from a few JRA members who are planning to come for the New England Junket (Sept 1 – Sept 4). Anybody else considering it?
If all goes well, we will see Debbie, Mike, and Nicholas on Terrapin, who are talking about coming here on their way north from the Chesapeake. And who knows about the timing on Linda and Pete, on Kokachin, who might be southbound, though perhaps later on – maybe in time for the Chesapeake junket! Our new JRA webmaster, Rafael, is coming up by land from Florida, and a couple of folks from nearer by are planning on it. JG is looking to have Brenda B in the water – the boat that formerly had its home with Phil Brown and is now housed in this part of Maine. Plus my sailing barge, Great Auk and our little JR dinghy Marigold.
Come by land or sea, to expand the fleet! Good places to anchor and a pretty bay to sail in, and excellent company :-)
Campground information is below – please note that this is different than the original reference at Schoodic Woods, which is now full.

Hope to see you!

Coming by boat:
Joy Bay, at the head of Gouldsboro Bay, between the towns of Gouldsboro and Steuben, Maine
NOAA chart #13324, Tibbett Narrows to Schoodic Island
Updated chartlet with anchorages, boat ramps, and shore activity locations coming soon.
This is a good area for trailer boats as well as cruisers. There is a paved ramp suitable for keel boats, and half-tide gravel ramp into a very sheltered cove that is good for dinghies and other smaller boats.
